Learn to draw like Picasso!

In late March, British art critic Jonathan Jones wrote an essay in The Guardian about his efforts to duplicate the kind of work he analyses for a living. The headline on the article was “It’s not as easy as it looks” and, while his write-up about learning to draw was pretty boring (thus excerpts only here), he did come up with a few interesting points about Picasso.

I bought one of those instruction manuals, and I chose the corniest in the shop – the one that promised to make you draw like Leonardo or Matisse or the other masters whose drawings illustrate it. Well, that would be worth £14.99. You also need some pencils, a sharpener and paper. See the rest.
