High school creation myth

When I was in high school during one recent century, I and my fellow budding artist Tony Meers set out to demonstrate that being Michelangelo wasn’t such a tough gig, despite everything you always hear about him sweating it out for years with his nose pressed against the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
The theatre club was puttin’ on a show and needed more space than the cafeteria stage afforded, so it was decided to create an extension off stage right, behind which they could rummage around mysteriously. I forget exactly what they were doing back there, but you know thespians. The wall concealing them was going to be pretty garish, so Tony and I set about decorating it.

Now, I don’t want to get into a Lennon-McCartney who-wrote-what schtick here, but as I recall I came up with the concept and Tony did almost all the actual work. (Comment box below, Tony.) See the rest.
