Just another night creature

Third instalment from the photo contest at marine website SerpentProject.com, this time the giant leptocephalus larva of a deep-sea eel (known to his tiny pals as Thalassenchelys coheni), committed to film in the Pacific at 400 metres. It’s 20 centimetres long and almost completely transparent.
You’ve seen “Alien”, right?
Much warmer but no less spooky is this Cirrate Octopod, found in the Gulf of Mexico at 800 metres.
