Dali Planet #94: The Haggerty Museum

The Haggerty Museum at Milwaukee’s Marquette University displays the 1949 “first” version of “The Madonna of Port Lligat”.

This was the painting that Dali took to Rome that year to seek Pope Pius XII’s approval of the image. The pontiff gave it his blessing.
