Dali Planet #132: Teatro Fenice
The Teatro Fenice in Venice hosted the premiere in 1961 of Dali’s “Ballet de Gala”, for which he also designed the sets and costumes. Maurice Bejart handled the choreography.
Shown here is a detail from “The Virgin of Guadalupe”, from 1959. The photo by Robert Descharnes shows the artist displaying a little drama of his own on a crag near his home in Port-Lligat.
